Game HUD: See every frame. Game HUD: Tap for 120 Hz. Game HUD: Every app, its own rate. Game HUD: Show what matters.

What it is

Game HUD puts a small overlay over any app or game with the real on-screen frame rate, CPU load, battery temperature and memory. Tap it to lock that app to 120 Hz or 60 Hz, relaunch it, or Boost away the apps running in the background.

Main features

How to use

  1. Install, then open any game — the HUD sits at the top center
  2. Drag it out of the way if a game puts buttons there
  3. Tap the HUD, pick 120 Hz and tap Relaunch
  4. Fine-tune readouts, layout and Chosen Apps in Settings → Game HUD

Tips

Honest limits

120 Hz needs a ProMotion display (iPhone 13 Pro and later Pro models). Games that cap their own frame rate stay capped, and a new rate applies the next time the app opens. Temperature is the battery sensor, not the CPU. Tested on iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 16.3.1) and iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS 17.1).

FAQ

Can Game HUD make a game run at 120 Hz?

Often, yes. Many games are held at 60 Hz only because they never asked for more. Game HUD tells the game it may use ProMotion and raises its frame rate requests to 120. Games that limit their own frame rate in code stay at their limit.

Does the HUD slow games down?

It updates a few times a second and does no work while it’s hidden or the screen is off. Pick a slower Update Every in Settings if you want it even lighter.

How much does Game HUD cost?

$1.99 one-time, or covered by CarterWare Tweak Pass ($10/mo) while active.
