What it is
Island draws a live visualizer around the Dynamic Island while music plays: a glowing halo, ears beside the island, bars below it or a wave. It follows the island as it changes shape, takes its colors from the album art, and lets you swipe the island to skip songs.

- Five styles: Halo, Halo and Ears, Ears, Bars Below and Wave
- Colors from the album art, a slow rainbow, white, or your own color
- Swipe the island left for the next song, right for the previous one
- Charging sweep: a ring in your battery’s color races around the island when you plug in
- Shows on the Lock Screen and inside apps; hides in landscape for video and games
- Ears stop short of the clock and status icons
How to use
- Install, then play some music
- Open Settings → Island and pick a Style and Color
- Tap Preview for 6 Seconds to try a style without music
- Swipe the island left or right to change songs
Tips
- Sensitivity raises or lowers how hard the visualizer reacts to quiet songs
- Album Art colors need the playing app to share its cover; otherwise Island uses your Custom Color
- Turn off Inside Apps if you only want it on the Home and Lock Screen
Honest limits
Needs an iPhone with a Dynamic Island (iPhone 14 Pro and later) on iOS 16 or 17. Tested on iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 16.3.1) and iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS 17.1). Some apps (Safari on iOS 16, for example) don’t share album art, so Island falls back to your Custom Color.
FAQ
Does Island use the microphone?
No. Island reads the sound your iPhone is already playing, inside the system audio process. It never records, and nothing leaves your phone.
Does it drain the battery?
Island only animates while music is playing and the screen is on. When the music stops it fades out and goes idle.
