What it is
Rewind quietly saves what’s on your screen every few seconds and reads the text in it on your iPhone, so you can scroll back through your day or search for anything you saw — the message you swiped away, the price on a page you closed. Nothing leaves your phone.

How to use
- Install, then use your iPhone as usual
- Open Rewind and scrub back through the timeline
- Tap search and type a word you remember seeing
- Tap a result to open the frame, then tap text to copy it
Tips
- Add private apps in Settings → Rewind → Excluded Apps
- Keep History For and Storage Limit decide how far back you can go
- Delete the last 15 minutes or the last hour from the app when you need to
Honest limits
Saves only when the screen has changed, every 3 to 15 seconds, so very short moments can be missed. Text recognition supports English and the other languages iOS Live Text reads. Tested on iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 16.3.1) and iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS 17.1).
FAQ
Does Rewind upload my screen anywhere?
No. There’s no account and no cloud. Frames and their text are stored and searched only on your iPhone, and removing Rewind deletes all of them.
Will it save my passwords?
No. Password fields, the passcode screen and password-manager AutoFill are skipped automatically, and password managers, Wallet and Health are excluded from the start.
Does it drain the battery?
Rewind saves only when the screen actually changes, never while it’s off or locked, and reads text in the background at low priority. It also pauses itself in Low Power Mode.
